Single Source Technologies is pleased to introduce AccuMap, a one-stop
service line of scheduled preventive maintenance, calibration, and
quality assurance for high-precision machine tools.
Keith Kauzlarich, vice president of Single Source Technologies,
notes, Customers of machined parts are demanding reduced piece-prices,
improved quality, and just-in-time shipping. The costs and risks
of not meeting customer expectations can result in lost revenue,
lost orders, and reduced profitability. Parts manufacturers
are being forced to get more and more out of equipment, tools, and
people just to stay competitive. In the past, fixing equipment as
it broke was sufficient to support manufacturing operations. As
part quality degraded, recalibrating equipment occasionally was
good enough. Now, with machine time and operator costs
at a premium, machine uptime is not a luxury, its a necessity.
Parts suppliers can no longer afford to have equipment break
down or fall out of specification at all, anytime, for any reason,
said Mike Boren, SST Service Manager. Regular equipment maintenance
and calibration is a necessity to maintain a competitive edge.
The die-mold and machined parts arena is highly competitive.
At the same time our customers are reducing manpower and cutting
back on scheduled maintenance. We see AccuMap as a way to provide
customers with the means of assuring that their equipment is always
accurate and production-capable, Kauzlarich said. AccuMap
is the service process developed by Single Source Technologies to
help ensure that its customers have productive machine tools with
maximum uptime, capable of standing up to the most demanding manufacturing
schedules. AccuMap is a thorough, data-driven, documented review
and equipment check that shows the condition and capability of machine
tools. Then SST performs the necessary maintenance, leveling, and
calibrations necessary to return equipment and tools to maximum
capability.
The result of AccuMap is to provide manufacturing managers with
clean, capable, operational equipment to help ensure that they can
meet production schedules and minimize downtime.
Single Source Technologies follows a rigorous, 14-step process
called CLLAIR that enhances the equipment manufacturers prescribed
maintenance procedures. CLLAIR stands for Clean, Lubricate, Level,
Adjust, Inspect, and Replace. AccuMap is regularly scheduled to
find and fix problems before they get out of hand. AccuMap provides
ISO-ready reports and pictorial statements of the equipments
condition, data acquired during the process, and before-and-after
machine capability metrics.
AccuMap offers four levels of service depending on customer need.
Bronze medal service is a basic service package intended to provide
basic maintenance. Silver medal service provides additional adjustments
on equipment axes as well as setting backlash using the Renishaw
ball-bar. Gold medal service provides in addition, leveling and
squaring the machine to OEM specifications as well as laser calibration
and pitch compensation over three axes.
AccuMaps fourth level of service, Diamond, offers rapid telephone
and service response to breakdown problems, regularly scheduled
preventive maintenance according to the equipment manufacturers
specifications, mid-year inspection and ball-bar assessments,
and reduced rates on parts and repair.
SST uses only factory-trained service technicians to perform AccuMap.
The team's members average over ten years experience each.
SST has a complete line of equipment, tooling, applications expertise,
and technicians to maximize machine tool manufacturing capability.
The benefits of AccuMap are better, more consistent machine accuracy.
Maintained equipment is capable of producing higher quality parts
more consistently. AccuMap PM has been shown to improve equipment
uptime, increasing production by putting more parts through the
equipment, and reducing the time to make production schedules. Increased
uptime also reduces the need to work premium time to make production
schedules.
Single Source Technologies, Inc. (SST), headquartered in Auburn
