Single Source Technologies Introduces Spinworx
Sets new standards: reducing downtime and considerably increasing machining capacity and tool life

 

Auburn Hills, MI – June 2010 – Single Source Technologies is now offering Spinworx, a new system of milling cutters with round inserts from Pokolm-Voha. This new generation of milling cutters is able to provide up to four times longer tool life for steel and cast iron applications.

Spinworx revolves automatically during the milling process and is fastened on a threaded stud-bolt-support, which is screwed into the cutter body, allowing for constant rotation. With this approach, notch wear is eliminated, allowing for 100 percent utilization of the existing cutting edge as well as maximum capacity without loss.

With an uninterrupted production process, the Spinworx system of milling cutters offers increased metal removal rates. It also allows for reduced chip compression, resulting in up to a 30 percent decrease in power consumption, increased protection of the machine spindle and reduced noise emissions

The extent of cutter diameters for this series ranges from 25 mm to 200 mm, and is offered in threaded shank end mill bodies and shell-type milling cutters, as well as with Pokolm’s patented DuoPlug Modular system, which uses shrink fit technology to provide the highest concentricity and maximum rigidity.
